Any ideas

Here's a glass from Japan. Apart from the spelling mistake- what on earth is this all about??! Any idea what they're getting at? Anything at all?

Forgive me being pedantic, but it's not a spelling error - it's one of punctuation. Hee hee, aren't I clever? To answer your question, however - could they be hinting at something smutty?

Unlikely. The Japanese have a far more mature attitude to nudity than our own juvenile culture. It is quite common for families to bathe together in their traditional large tubs, with no suggestion of impropriety. It's a pity we suffer from such tabloid instincts!

Perhaps, in this instance, the tabloids merely reflect the Nation's instincts - in which case I don't think it's a pity in the slightest. I can think of few things more uncomfortable than the notion of sharing a bath with my parents and sibling - at any age.

In this regard, I don't consider our culture to be juvenile - merely different. Thank goodness for such differences is what I say.
