The Final Curtain

In a few hours, subscribers get to know all about the milestone that is the final print Dandy bumper birthday edition. I've drawn quite a few pages, here's a tiny part of one of them. (A special toffee to anyone who knows why I am presenting a page from this strip, not one of the others I've drawn.)
If you want to see more, go buy a DANDY on Wednesday- it's your last opportunity!

Good to see Harry Hill back for the last edition! I enjoyed the strip right from the start!

You chose Harry because you wrote that script yourself?

Good to see that you're presumably permitted to publish D.C Thomson images again. I suppose we'll all learn the story of the apparent 'ban' one day.

No, it's because the Harry Hill strip is a joint copyright and doesn't belong exclusively to the publisher.

I see, but wouldn't you need JOINT permission from all parties who own the copyright? Usually, one joint copyright owner can't give his consent independently of the others.

For example, the reason why the 1966 TV Batmobile wasn't available in any form of toy or kit for many years (until recently) was because copyright of its image belonged to Greenway Productions, Warner, and George Barris, and getting joint consent from all three of them was impossible - until Mattel unloaded a truck full of money at their front doors (metaphorically speaking).

Long story. As one of the copyright holders I have decided to publish.
