Dngerous Dan- what's his story?

See the Beano Website here

The Beano's secret agent, Dangerous Dan has been running for six weeks now and the Beano website have put up a little article about how it was created. The name I coined and hoped they'd use, Danger Dan, was in homage to Patrick McGoohan's TV show of the 1960s, Danger Man, but the Beano went for their original title, Dangerous Dan.

I think I prefer 'Danger Dan' myself. Or even 'Dan Danger'. 'Dangerous Dan' doesn't really have a secret agent 'sound' to it.

I think they chose the right look for the character (Number Six! Now there's irony) although design No.2 looks brilliantly focused and nuts.

Looking forward to the final episode in today's edition. (And hopefully a second series soon.)

Hi Nigel, just letting you know I'm voting Dangerous Dan and have already e-mailed Mike Stirling telling me I really want to see more of him. Let's hope the rest of the voters think the same!

I agree with Kid, obviously someone in the Beano Office didn't get the joke in the original Danger Dan title. Also, Dangerous Dan is the name of one of Desperate Dan's old enemies, so he was the first thing I thought of when I saw the name, rather than Danger Man. That wasn't a great start, although the strip itself is good, especially last week's.

I'm sure they'd get the joke James, but perhaps they felt the young readers wouldn't. (It's been a long time since Danger Man was on TV.) I agree it definitely sounds better as Danger Dan though.

Dangerous dan sounds like a stunt man's name

I really liked Dangerous dan - he was one of my favorite comic strips in The Beano. Great artwork! :) Will he be returning in the not-to-distant future (ir even the distant future)? I so, I think it would look really cool if you used some of the movie classic angles i.e just the eyes looking to the side or between the legs with a dustball rolling across! Great art though - keep it up! :D
