That's what he does. Cartooning in comics for 44 years, should be getting the hang of it anytime now...

Memory lapse
I came across this today and can't recall if it was ever published. If it was, it would have been around August 2009. Although I did a dozen or so BEA and IVY pages, I didn't even remember drawing a just-IVY page (even though the History of The Beano book for some reason bizarrely reckons that's all I ever did. Research, eh? And I'm still with us. Imagine how "accurate" those histories are where the researcher can no longer just pick up the phone and ask rather than guess or rely on an imperfect memory.) Which reminds me- was this ever printed?

One of your IVY strips was indeed printed, with a note inserted that Bea was being kept in for being bad. I don't remember seeing this one before, though...
After some thoroughly inadequate research...
The last Bea and Ivy strip was printed on August 8th 2009 (issue 3495), and featured a wedding.
Two weeks later (3497) an 'Ivy' strip was printed (with text under the title saying "Bea's not allowed out this week!", in Nigel's handwriting, which suggests a degree of forward planning). It wasn't the one published here, though - it depicted Ivy's attempts to keep cool, by way of, among other things, a farting dog.
The following issue (3498) was the Dennis revamp, and the first of the year-long run of Robert Nixon reprints.
I'll check some comics from earlier in the year and report back later...
Well, issue 3472 contained a Bea & Ivy strip, but issue 3473 contained a plain Bea strip, so all I can conclude is that the situation isn't as clear-cut as I'd hoped.
Until I finally start my patented index of Beanos over the last decade, it'll have to remain a mystery.
Thanks for the info. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of what you've done and when it's printed.
