A kind person showed me this posted on a website yesterday: |
beanowed:
"I seem to remember one Bea strip from 2002 or
so where the family are watching TV, Bea is shown getting more
obviously uncomfortable throughout, and in the grand finale, she does a massive
poo that covers the whole room, Dennis and all. They showed the poo in
graphic detail, it was all squidgy and stuff. I was really surprised
they got away with that..."
Well, where to begin? I drew Bea from 1998 to 2008 and I never drew this strip 'remembered' above. There was one, cover date March 23rd 2002 which, to an inattentive person may have looked a little as described, but it wasn't in a very particular detail, and in other incidental details. I would suggest that this person has another look at that issue and tries to fathom out what is actually happening and, maybe, apologise for posting what is after all an egregious lie.

I read that as well - I didn't know whether you drew that particular strip, but when I read that I thought 'really?' I can't imagine the Beano publishing anything like that, and if they did there would probably have been complaints
Er, hold on. I'm pretty sure I remember this. And I don't have the issue to hand at the moment. Slightly "miffed".
The Beano didn't print such a strip. I have never drawn such a strip. Almost every word of Beanowed's "recollection" is wrong. If you still can't bring yourself to accept that maybe I should post it here.
Post the strip then, please.
Well, well. Swirlythingy has posted the actual strip up on the Beanoforum, and he disagrees with you. It was vomit that covered the whole room - not poo - but it was still very extreme and fitted our thread. Bit of an overreaction from you, Nigel.
No, it didn't fit your post which was a direct response to other's replies to your query: " ...in South Park it's usually about feces which they dont use in jokes in the Beano." and "They never actually show feces in The Beano though they just imply it is the reason for her smelly nappies."
You stated "...in the grand finale, she does a massive poo that covers the whole room, Dennis and all." neither of which is true. And now you somehow have someone who 'disagrees' with me. In what respect? I am pointing out your errors and asking you to apologize for misrepresenting my work but you continue to pretend you are right.
And by the way you are not 10 years old.
And for what reason do you not think i am 10 years old?
I AM 10 YEARS OLD.
(Love your artwork, btw)
The reason my previous post was anonymous was because I made a mistake while posting it.
Nigel, Oliver's telling the truth about his age. This is his Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/oliver.forde.9
The 9 apparently refers to his age when the account was set up.
The age restriction for Facebook is 13.
