Those Rumours.

A website known by the unpleasant nomenclature of 'Bleeding Cool' has been publishing some wildly inaccurate posts about the new Dandy. Anyone wanting real facts, I have a feeling they'll be found elsewhere and not there. See you here tomorrow?

I did talk to Harry Hill's writers...

I had to email Digital Spy to get the Blurp mistake corrected. They never learn. :(

Don't worry about it, NP. As the old-timers used to say around the IPC/FLEETWAY offices - "It's only a flipping comic!" (Well, it was a word like "flipping".)

And D.C. THOMSON aren't above disseminating a little misinformation about their titles when it suits them (remember the "news" about changes for Dennis, Bash Street and Dan a few years back?), so it's hardly the end of the world if some people get a few titbits wrong.

At least people are taking an interest and, when you get down to it, that's what counts.

Digital Spy didn't publish rumours as fact. They sourced a story from elsewhere and made it clear that they weren't the source of the information.

Anon, DS should be checking the facts for themselves. The Sun wouldn't print a story and say they got it from yesterday's Daily Mirror after all. If someone at DS had contacted Lew Stringer, the story mentioning "Blurp" wouldn't have been wrong in the first pace, he'd have corrected them. NP is certainly right about Bleeding Cool being a bad source of news. DS were naive to take it as gospel.

It sounds like crossed wires to me. The original source, Bleeding Cool, claims to have spoken to Harry Hill's writers first.

You can blame DS all you want, but better organised PR would have prevented this from happening.

Claims to? I did, I've got two of them on Facebook friends...
