That's a good figure for one...17 copies a week? That's a good figure for one shop. No local Tesco around here at present. It's being rebuilt and modernized. My corner shop still carries three or four copies every week though. (I buy one. Two if I'm in it.)Lew Stringerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10746322402392204077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7368547835679116061.post-44003131176291285772011-06-28T09:01:42.295+01:002011-06-28T09:01:42.295+01:00Ah, remember when comics would put "-For Girl...Ah, remember when comics would put "-For Girls and Boys" at the top? And that was in the 1960s! How retrograde is the step to segregate the sexes again? I had enough of segregation in the 70s. Mingling is fine.<br />The new ultra store they've just opened near where I live has a good section of comics- and they even stock The Dandy, which I'm glad to note has been selling out! (18 copies a week- that's 17 new sales, as none of the other shops within 5 miles stock it! And the 18th copy- I buy that, just to encourage matters!)NPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11576357868923002621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7368547835679116061.post-985687659653983712011-06-27T16:02:04.116+01:002011-06-27T16:02:04.116+01:00Apparently some Tesco stores have now strictly seg...Apparently some Tesco stores have now strictly segregated the comics into 'Boys' and 'Girls' sections. Annoyingly stupid idea that will no doubt lose sales if it embarrasses the opposite sex from picking up comics they might otherwise try. (eg: Doctor Who Adventures, which has a significant girl readership, is in the boys section. God knows where Beano and Dandy would be put.)Lew Stringerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10746322402392204077noreply@blogger.com
